Two COVID-19-related video-accompanied cases of severe ataxia-myoclonus syndrome

Aim of the study. The pandemic state COVID-19 has resulted in new neurological post-infection syndromes. Recently, several papers have reported ataxia-myoclonus syndrome following SARS-CoV-2 infection. aim this study was to present our two cases and compare them previously cases. Materials methods. We video-accompanied with infection discuss studies published so far. Results. Ataxia-myoclonus syndrome, isolated myoclonus, opsoclonus-myoclonus as post-COVID-19 been described 16 patients (including cases). Patients treated intravenous immunoglobulins and/or steroids except for 4 patients, which a significant improvement within 1–8 weeks. Conclusions clinical implications. increasing number similar symptomatology shows relationship between syndrome. subacute onset symptoms after resolved prominent response immunotherapy may suggest that manifestations are immune-mediated. Although recovery is highly possible, it take weeks/months, clinicians should be aware diagnosis beneficial effects immunological treatment administered soon possible.
